Hong Kong – New Orleans

It’s been a busy few weeks since arriving back !

I don’t know how to sum up my trip to Hong Kong it truly was incredible, the hospitality and kindness of Lina and her team was out of this world! After our fab day trip sightseeing with Josephine, Kelvin and Mon it was workshop day!

Workshop day was so much fun, it was great to catch up with friends I have met before and also meet lots of new friends!

We had a busy day where I taught 6 dances – we had some really funny moments and great sound effects!

Dances I taught were, you are the reason, legends, breathe, pray, 85 & just drunk enough. All the dances were really well received and we danced our socks off!

Saturday brought us the Hong Kong Line Dance Association party! Wow, wow, wow!

I had no clue what to expect, but when I entered the ballroom my jaw hit the floor! The set up was second to none, the tables beautifully decorated, the floor packed with dancers (around 200) the spread of food was out of this world and everybody was so beautifully dressed!

The butterflies in my tummy were fluttering uncontrollably, with nerves and excitement!

Boy do they know how to put on a event – we spent the evening, dancing, toasting and cutting the cake! The atmosphere was electric!

I was a very honoured to perform 2 numbers during the evening, imagine and let it go. Following straight into teaching my party dance ‘instruction’ to the crowd!

The adrenaline was flowing through my veins and emotion bubbled beneath the surface (I try to put on on this tough exterior, but I’m actually a marsh mellow 😂) just trying to take in how lucky I was!

After I finished and came down from the stage, Lina presented me with a gorgeous glass trophy engraved with the 20th anniversary party details and my name, I was so choked once again by every thought and detail that went into making this event a huge success!

I did try to give a speech (public speaking is apparently not my strong point) but this marsh mellow could not hold it together and melted into tears, all the emotion and proud feelings unravelled at that moment!

Here in a nutshell is what I wanted to say……

To Lina, Cece and the rest of the committee I am truly honoured from the bottom of my heart to be here, thank you for this wonderful opportunity and trusting in me your kindness and hospitality has been overwhelming! It has been an incredible thank you to our wonderful tour guides and to every dancer here tonight and who came to my classes! Thank you once again from the bottom of my heart, I can’t wait to come and see you all again! ❤

I am now sitting at Heathrow tucking into breakfast ready for my next adventure! New Orleans here I come – I am very excited for our Mardi Gras trip this coming week! Saturday and Sunday I will be teaching 2 brand new dances;

The wolf & The Champion!

Sheets to be released after the teaches!

See you on the dance floor!
